Stock to mildly built should be able to do this in the summer, maybe minor rock damage depending on size of vehicle. Lots of fallen timber blocking the trail, but we figured maintenance halts during the winter months. If you follow the service road down a bit you will hit the trail again which follows the ridge line for a mile or two before hitting the CDT which makes for a less steep hike overall and it can be taylored to any length. As someone else said the trail head is just north of mile marker 14 but you have to park on other side of road. There were patches of icy snow throughout, but never deep. It’s definitely a hard hike, mainly due to the abundance of loose rocks on the trail, but it’s a beautiful hike and I highly recommend it to anyone who would rather roll their ankles a few times, than sit on the couch all day.
