This is a review of the Umbrella/MVD release (big white letters with red banner) Not the prior green/blue cover edition. With John Phillip Law, Mel Gibson, Sam Neill, Chris Haywood. I say that because this edition gets it right. Force Z is a crack Australian military corps during World War II. The following weapons were used in the film Attack Force Z: When a plane carrying a high-profile Japanese defector crash-lands somewhere in the South Pacific, it's up to Force Z to find it. Boasting a top notch cast, Attack Force Z is a fast-moving, action-packed World War II adventure story in the tradition of The Guns of Navarone and The Dirty Dozen. Directed by Tim Burstall.
Attack Force Z was a 1982 Australian-produced WWII film that starred then unknown actors Mel Gibson and Sam Neill along with John Phillip Law, Chris Haywood and John Waters (the Australian actor, not the director) as members of a commando team sent to rescue the survivors of a plane crash on a Japanese-occupied island in the Pacific.. All-star cast includes Mel Gibson (Braveheart, Lethal Weapon). Attack Force Z is now on Blu-ray for the second time in America.
A group of Australian commandos launch a secret mission against Japanese forces in World War II.
