In a small jar, add sugar, vinegar, water, oil, celery seed, powdered mustard, salt and pepper. This refreshing, simple carrot slaw is wonderful served with fresh basicl, chopped cilantro or crushed red pepper. Trim and peel the daikon radish, then cut it crosswise into 3-inch pieces. Adjust to taste, adding additional salt, sugar or vinegar, if needed. 1 Tbsp honey. Taste and adjust sugar or salt as needed. Add dressing to cabbage mix, stir well. Let set for two hours or longer. 1 Tsp sesame oil. Drain liquid from bowl. Peel the radish and cut into really thin strips. This slaw is an essential component of a banh mi, but is great as a salad on its own or part of a fish or chicken dinner.
