Days after the sessions at Apple had ended, Glyn Johns put together a rough mix acetate of several songs, for the band to listen to. Unfortunately the end result, compiled twice by Glyn Jones, was simply too rough and sloppy to be release-worthy and was shelved. Produciuno George Martin.
Phil Spector was later appointed to make an album out of the tapes in 1970 and even though better performances were selected, Spector infamously added his own orchestration, going against the live “warts and all” concept of the Get Back album. Glyn Johns then compiled the album for a third time immediately after. Despite the bad feelings that had occurred, the Beatles once again rallied their forces for a “last hurrah” – starting their last album, Abbey Road in April of 1969. The rough cut included the song "I Me Mine," so the Beatles booked Abbey Road to record the song in January 1970.
